Thread: Writing with sex offenders

I have a few questions about writing with sex offenders and need some advice. However, I'd prefer not to talk about this publicly, so, if anyone with some experience on this matter (maybe someone who already writes with one theirselves) could pm me, I'd appreciate it!

if you are just looking for "pen pals" and if you are not one of those who are ready to jump into a relationship with their pen pals, there is nothing wrong with writing sex offenders

I write to 3 sex offenders, and happy to try and answer what ever questions I have.

I have written to some in the past. Happy to answer any questions.

I have written to several and have found absolutely no difference in their actions/behaviour between them and my other penpals.

Why would sex offenders be unable to form relationships? As we all know, there are many different acts that are classed as sex offences, not just rape. Some offences may have been committed many years ago but the label remains for ever.

everyone is free to do whatever they want to do with sex offenders. I wouldnt choose to be with one of them while there are millions of men out there. I would just write them.

Rape a woman, or murdered 4 people??? I wonder how come some can write a Murder, but not a rapist- Myself wouldnt want to write either of them

I don't know why, but I have an easier time "handling" someone in for murder than someone in for rape. I have never been able to figure that one out. So you can imagine my horror when I found out my first pen pal raped and murdered. I accepted the fact that he killed someone before I even wrote to him, but I had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that he raped his victim too.

And I know I'm not the only one like that.

That is why we are all unique in our own way. To see beyond killing and rape, is a strength I dont have( I know I would judge) I dont say they dont need anyone, of course they do. Big Up for them that can handle it
