A Reflection On My First Born

Through the eyes of a young man, I’ve seen
What I thought was splendor.
Through what I possess now, I see such was folly
Because to see with the eyes of a much
Wiser and older view
Is to truly see life at its peak
And even as I say this I know it to
Lack proper description, because the beauty
Of life cannot truly be described for such
Unadulterated joy and love amidst such pain
And suffering.
To think such a contradiction could not possibly
Be a reality
But my heart truly sees a diamond
In the rough
A treasure greater than can be imagined
One of God’s purist gifts
You!
