My man did time here in the late 90s. It was dreadful even then but looks like things are getting worse.

See now THAT is a real worry when the basic need of water isnt provided.

Yeah E has been there since he was 19 and is now 24. He is a lifer so has his whole life to experience it I guess.

My man is a lifer in a nearby unit and they have brown bag sandwiches for all meals, 4 days a week. Apparently someone died of heat stroke in his unit recently.

See that is the kind of thing of thing we should be talking about...not that other trivial stuff. This is basic human rights, even in a prison environment.....lack of water and being locked down in their cells for 23 hours day in that heat

I agree and for that reason I prefer the PTO forums for such issues. Most of the posters there are wives/girlfriends/husbands/mothers, etc of inmates and therefore have a much deeper personal interest in the problems they face. The Connally unit and the lack of water, not being able to flush the toilets has been discussed a lot on there recently.

Due to staff shortages, my man is also in the cell 24 hours a day. He had one hour of outside rec in 6 days. I'm worried he'll get rickets!
