Yay after reading this I'm going to send my PP a crapload of pictures. One more question, and this may be dumb, but can I send postcards without an envelope? I sent a few to my last PP and he never replied about them so I'm not sure he even got them. I'm specifically asking in regards to McConnell.

Yes, you can send postcards without an envelope to McConnell.

I printed out a typed letter and I printed the pages so they are double sided, but one page is blank on one side. Can I print a cool picture there or something? I've heard of people's letters being rejected because they had photos directly in the letter so I thought I'd ask. This letter is already late so I reaaallllyyy don't want it to get rejected, but that blank page is so boring!

i insert pictures in my typed letters all the time to polunsky so it shouldn't be a problem i wouldn't think.

I did the same at Tamms (Illinois) which is a supermax they went through just fine

Thanks girls, I took the chance and photocopied a pencil drawing I did onto the blank page. Stuffed a bunch of loose photos in there too! I'm excited/nervous about this one! Hope it goes through!!

I just wrote to my first PP in McConnell Unit, sending the letter tomorrow!

Ok...so I sent my PP a postcard and he hasn't recieved it yet. Was I supposed to put a return address on it? I did-put a return adress on it. Was that confusing to the mail people perhaps? I mean I added TO and FROM. Is that even necessary?

You don't need to put a return address on it.

Hopefully your friend will get the card. While some institutions/states do not require return addy, i will always put it on. While i do not write, to and from as such i always address it to the person and sign my name. That way i cover all my bases, because as most of us know, what one will pass another may not when it comes to the mail room.
