    Default Newbie Question

Hi, Im a male in Australia and just a few minutes before posting this thread, I sent 2 email message, 1 email each to 2 women. Just wanting to know how this will work.

I know I got to wait till 20th July to get it printed out and given to them. Are the prisoners allowed to email back or what ? How does this work ? And how long does it usually take for a reply ?

    Thanks heaps

    Hey and welcome
If they can reply back via "email" depends totally between if its state prison or federal and if its state depends on which state and which facility.
    hmmm....

    Welcome!

You can also look up the snail mail address on their profile and mail them a written letter if you don't want to wait until the 20th. Basically, the WAP staff print out the emails and mail them to each person and then they generally respond back to you in a letter. Some prisons allow you to email them via JPay.com - Inmate lookup, send money, Department of Corrections, email. The prison will print out your email and deliver it within 48 hours of you sending it. Some prisons also have JPay kiosks where the inmate can respond back to you and it gets delivered via the JPay site. In both instances the email to and from the inmates is monitored so it is not an "instant" thing.

    Hi Aaron!!!

The WAP letters go snail mail and they will get MAILED on the 20th. Figure it will get where it's supposed to go in about 3 days. If they have stamps and stuff on the ready and they write right back you can expect a letter to still take a little bit since you're in Australia.

Jpay is great, but not all the facilities have the capability of emailing back - most don't. They'll also print it for them and give it to him, but direct from the mail room so if you did it early in the morning or late at night it would be there same day basically.

If they are in Federal and they have money on their books, they can email you through corrlinks. If you picked Federal pals then you're lucky because you won't have to wait the eternity for snail mail though I have to tell you snail mail is fun.

    Happy Writing!
