That happens when a moderator closes it. Why it's closed is their decision.

would my posting of the article about executing mentally disabled prisoners in the death row section be considered an inappropriate posting?

I didn't think it was inappropriate, but yeah... I'm not the one closing threads. I can imagine that if a thread got out of hand that they might close it. e.g. a discussion getting out of hand... etc. But if you really want to know you could email them, as English suggested. The account name is "writeaprisoner staff"

I think because it went out of hand, people getting 'personal' and all. Death Penalty is a sensitive subject for eberyone with lots of emotion involved and can easily go out of hand, I think they thought something like 'this doesn't make sense anymore'.
But then again, almost EVERY thread here goes offtopic. Or doesn't make sense after a while.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll send an email. I posted the thread and by the time I got back to it, I wanted to respond at the direction the thread took (off topic) and wasn't able to do so. Again, thanks for the feedback.
