    Great topic!

I find it bizarre that parents are comfortable with their young girls being ogled like that.
I thought the same when it was really hot here and I was in the bus with all these school kids... Elementary school children (at least looked like that age) with really short skirts that only covered the butt and shoes like these Knallgelbe Plateauschuhe - Fotos zum Thema Mode in der Erdbeerlounge. And I thought NOOOOOO how did your parents let you leave like that and then I also thought what do you do to your knees and feet if you wear these shoes already. Not good.
On the other hand I have to say that some girls start dressing like this at a really early age, and I know girls who left the house in appropriate clothes in the morning and then somewhere met with their friends and changed their clothes before they all went to school.
The problem is that often at the age of 13 or 14 they can look adult already with their make up and dresses and I bet many of them aren't aware of the consequences.. Especially if they may start hanging around with older teenagers or even adults, imagine if they lie to boys about their age and then they want something that a 13 year old might not want (yet). Just because they can dress like an adult doesn't mean they are mature right :/

I also think its down to the 'fashions nowadays' ( ive just morphed into my mum! !) , when i was about 10 there was no 'sexy' fashion. I was very happy in my full length Starsky and Hutch jumpsuit! And i had it zipped all the way up to my chin! !!

I personally also think it has heaps to do with reality shows, such as the Kardashian's. The youngest girls are 14 and 16 I think, and they look close to 20 with the way they dress and act!! Young girls look up to them and want to be just like them.
We have girls here in Aus dressing like this too....one of my favourite's on the shirts 'kiss me before my boyfriend comes back'.....really?

Being a mother of a very strong minded 8 year old I have to agree and explain gently why these clothes aren't appropriate or nice for little girls.

Their childhoods are short enough, can't they enjoy their innocence while they have it.

Here in the UK girls from the age of 10 upwards are wearing ridiculously short shorts with crop tops (This is what is in fashion right now) I seen a girl who mustn't have been no older than 14 wearing these type of high waisted shorts but didn't even cover her bum, her cheeks were all out to show and her friends were no different.

It makes you question how a parent allows their child, especially in a world that we live in right now, to actually leave the house wearing what they're wearing, if she was my child I wouldn't have even bought her that sort of clothing.
