I am sitting next to a camp fire with three wonderful guys. its so quiet and peaceful. this trip has been great so far. made it up route 389 in one piece. and a loon is singing us to sleep.

It's was five days of nail biting but finally I got mail today! Yay, that before even reading it is enough to smile

Celery noodle soup based on stock made from pigs' feet. Its worth the trouble.

It was my mother's birthday on the 14th and today is her big birthday party. I just got done with her cake! I might add a few more roses and then I'm done. Bottom layer: Rum and Coconut Devil's Food Cake and the top layer is a Strawberry Cake, all with a Dark Chocolate Frosting! Fresh strawberries on top and dark chocolate shavings.. topped off with a fresh pink rose! Eeh, It's gonna be fun. Seeing the smile on her face really made me smile. And now to continue with the mountains of meat in the kitchen! haha. I took a few quick snaps with my phone, gonna take some pretty proper pictures later.

Looks great! I want to eat cake, NOW!
