So what is it that you like about us dang Aussies so much?

Or maybe it is a certain dang Aussie that you are fond of. Nicole Kidman? Hugh Jackman? Dame Edna Everidge?

I went to schools based on the English private school model, so chap is perfectly acceptible to me. Reminds me of being buggered by a prefect in front of the common-room fire.
But if you don't want to offend, Mate or Cobber is probably more appropriate.

But you can call me Shytforbrains if you promise that you will vote when the time comes.

I can't say that I'm a fan of Obama. What a disappointment to the world!
But that Mit Romney item is excrable!
Julia Gillard is unfortunately a career politician. I look back fondly to the days when our Prime Ministers were drawn from the ranks of boilermakers, train-drivers, and fruit-growers.
But I do like her honesty. She's unashamedly atheist, childless, and unmarried. Her live-in boyfriend is a women's hairdresser who is still doing perms and colours in a very down-at-heel working class suburb of Melbourne. What's not to like?

On the whole, things are pretty good - despite the serious weather we've been getting in Sydney this week.

Like you guys, we're gearing up for a federal election later this year. I hoping (although not yet betting) that both Barak Obama and Julia Gillard will be returned to power. The alternatives are just to bizarre to contemplate.
