beware of Inmates using penpal sites to run scams.
My husband J. B. is incarcerated at the maine state prison. some one has created a profile for him to scam money ect. out of women. He is Married not single. Please do the research ladies before believing everything an Inmate tells you.

Cant he get that off or something...how did he find out about this?

Sorry that happened to you/your husband and it's true, people have to be careful and mainly use good common sense like they'd use anywhere else. Steering clear of ads that outright ask for donations, support, legal help, investments, is a good way to weed out the top offenders. Guess it gets harder when it's more subtle. Already happened to me once, wouldn't happen again.

Yes he has a profile on here, we tried to have it removed but they will not remove it. I found out about it a month ago when i googled our names.

Profiles are able to get removed on here...My guy got his removed he just had to sign something and send it back and it was removed from here within a couple of weeks maybe more. If you want your hubbys profile off contact WAP staff and they will send something to him to sign and return to them.

I think I don't understand this.
They have used his name and address, right? How would someone scam people to get money or something but the money goes to someone else? I mean, when someone sends stuff it will go directly to your husband, right?
If I were you I would be paranoid (but I admit I tend to be that quick. I call it 'common sense' and 'life experience' though). I would think that my man put up some ad and didn't expect you to find out.

I don't mean to offend you by any means, really. But I just don't underdstand how this could be a scam.
Maybe you can explain?

I am with vixxxen here sorry. All he has to do is contact wap and they will remove the profile it is not impossible to do and they will remove it. I dont see how this could be a scam either since no other inmates can intercept his mail it will go straight to him. Sorry but I dont see either how this could be a scam. And also not saying thats the case here but anyone can come and post and say that this and this person is doing whatever scam its kinda hearsay really because we cant hear your husbands side of the story.
