Default Just sent my First JPAY email to my PP

    Hi all
I'm very excited cause I've just sent my first Jpay email and it is so easy and I get why it was so highly recomended. Im not sure if I recieve email's back from my PP because as far as I know his unit in Texas don't give inmates access to the internet. Whether he would write it on paper and a third party would compose the email I don't know. God I'm such a NOOB
If any more experienced Jpay users could let me know how the correspondance works for them. I also didn't put my address details on the Jpay email itself but my details are on the site but I don't know if that is accessible to the PP. If it's normal practice to put your contact details on the actual email then I can send another one with my info on it, I've got plenty of stamps left.
Thank you everybody. Hope you're all having a good day

He will have to write it out on paper. Did you include your address he will need that as well. It is a pretty convenient system I think, I just don't like that you have to pay so much for one page but there are ways to avoid that if you buy jpay stamps from cheaper states like Washington and then deleting that person after you have bought the bulk stamps.

Thanks so much, I will send another email with my address on it. I agree about the cost for a single page email and if you want to attach a picture it takes an extra stamp from your account. I will mix it up with written letters too. You can't beat that feeling when you get a letter in the mail and for my pp as well when he hears his name at mail call.

Just a word of caution about 'using' (in the loosest sense of the word) people in Washington to buy cheaper stamps.

The Washington inmates know about this. They can see people appearing on their Jpay list and then disappearing again. Even if you add yourself and then delete after a stamp purchase, it can take a day or so for the inmate's account on Jpay to reflect this.

My PP in Washington has an ad on here and has seen several women's names appear on his Jpay account. He has contacted them with a brief introductory message only for them to disappear later that day or the next day. It is getting quite upsetting for him. Inmates in his pod have said the same thing to him.

Now, I am not without sin in this regard. I added a Washington inmate to my Jpay account to buy cheaper stamps for Texas. I actually chose someone who I would be happy to write to anyway. Whilst I am happy that my PP and I have worked out great and we get along very well, deep down I feel bad for adding him purely for my own selfish gain to save a few dollars a month.

    Hi and welcome
Yes on Jpay put your address on it. He will reply to you via snail mail but he will get your JPay within a day or 2. I use it daily and if I send it before 11am America time he gets it the same day so thats fine.

    Happy writing

Maybe I am misunderstanding you but my pen pal in Texas told me that my address doesn't show up only my client number so if I don't put my name on it he can only guess that it is from me.

Im pretty sure your name is at the top of the JPay so they will know who its from but your address isnt. Josh I think that number changes all the time. He sent me what I had sent him before let me check it. I do believe the name is on it though and the area hes in. tnever used any grammar in that Josh ooops.

Snail mail is just normal mail we call it snail mail because it can be sooooo slow
