Gay, straight, lesbian, trans-gender, cross dresser, WHO CARES! That is your child (regardless of age) and you SHOULD love them UNCONDITIONALLY.... PERIOD! No BS like I love you, but only if you are straight, or some other prerequisite... Sad, truly sad that a parent would do that.

Alone in the garden, you thought would set you free...
I saw this a couple of days ago. Heartbreaking. I can't imagine turning my back on my child for any reason. But to do it simply because of who my child is - I just don't have the words.
My children will always be my children, and whoever they are is fine by me - love should not have limits.
Two of my cousins came out in the last few years, their parents and the rest of our family ( even the really old fashioned ones) were like ' so what, we're family'. My mum always used to say, 'love sees no colour or boundries, as long as your partner treats you with respect then thats good enough for me!'. Things like this make me realise how lucky i am to have grown up in the family i did.....even if they drive me crazy sometimes![]()

While i FULLY agree with KAM.......
To be honest my heart goes out to the FATHER, imagine the turmoil he must feel? For those who think he does not love his son, i would strongly disagree, this is a man caught up in BELIEFS. In this relationship/situation i feel the son would fair much better than the father emotionally. So while i feel badly for the son, it is the father that needs understanding and support.

To be honest I dont think that letter was about hate.
ok so the father is old fashioned but we dont know how he has been brought up and what his parents said and got him to believe or family members. He needs educated. To be honest I do feel a bit sorry for the dad. He will think he has failed in some way. Not his fault but that may be the way he thinks.
