It depends which state they are in. Some can. Some can't.

Which state are we talking about?

Washington can. You'll just have to check the JPay inbox.

Thankyou! Is there like a list or something where I can check which states allow prisoners to e-mail back, or do I just have to ask the person I'm writing??

Helix, i am not sure if you are aware but depending on state will depend on the price of "stamps" as well, i think Washington is one of the cheaper states. If you write Washington you buy the stamps and they can be used for all states though if that makes sense?

So out of curiosity, I searched my 2 new potential PP's and one of them is on there....this may sound stupid, but if their name comes up, that means they have access to a Jpay account right? Like do they have to sign themselves up for it, or are they automatically on there if they're in a facility that allows Jpay. I hope that makes sense... :/

If the state has jpay access then they will automatically be on there BUT some states allow only transfer of money for example Illinois some states only allow incoming email for example Texas others have both incoming and outgoing emails for example Washington other states have no jpay whatsoever for example Arizona. It always pays to check the link I posted and check both state and the facility it will all be there. If you have any other questions please ask the questions arent stupid
