So I've been browsing the ads, trying to find another PP to write but I'm having a hard time picking one! I sent letters to two PPs this week but figured I'd like to send out more to increase my chances of getting a reply. It's so hard to pick someone! It was really easy with the first 2 people I wrote because I saw their ads and they just clicked immediately. But now I just don't seem to be "clicking" with any ads I see. I have a fair bit of spare time as it is and want to write!!

Any advice/suggestions? My two rules with picking someone seem to be: must be wearing clothes and have an ad that doesn't sound like it was made for a dating site.

Oh and I'd like to know how everyone here chose their PPs! Share stories/etc.

I seached for moths before I finally find one I wanted to write to, I glad that I was so picky, he is a perfect PP.

How many PPs do you think you can keep up with? Most of them seems to respond so don't write to more than you think you can handle. From the beginning I thoughed that I wanted to get two or maybe three but this one keeps me busy enough,it wouldn't been fair to get another one.

Definitely no more than three. If these two reply then I feel I can take on one more. But no more than that. I want to write them quality letters that are worth the wait. I'm more the type that likes to have a few very close friends rather than lots of acquaintances.

I narrow down the searches at the beginning, people around my age, the sex etc so that I am limited to the amount of people to look through to start with. I read them all to be fair to everyone because it can't be judged on looks. If they make me laugh, or something about it is different or unique to all the rest then that's a stand out. I'm definitely with you on nothing about a dating site!!! I feel like I can read between the lines and get a feel for if someone is truly after a friendship or something more. That also counts for girls, because clearly they probably don't want a girl writing them if they request a rich older businessman lol. I also look at the crime and take that into account. As cheesy as it sounds, if I like their smile and they look genuinely happy in their photo, then that's the cherry on the icing

While i do not actively look these days, i am with Sunray on this one, especially now having a greater understanding.

My PP and I were discussing this recently. He wanted to know why I chose him because he thinks I'm the perfect PP for him. I haven't told him that I was looking for someone in Washington for cheaper Jpay stamps. However, once I had narrowed it down to Washington I chose him for his honesty and that he made it clear he does not need money or sympathy from anyone. He is very pragmatic about his situation and accepts that it is necessary in view of what he did. He is not what most people would call handsome. But he's the ideal choice for me. We get along much better than I ever anticipated.

I can´t exactly tell you why I chose him. I just skipped through the adds and there he was . Could say my heart made the decision.

The 2 I choose I basically picked, like Smiley & sunray's_wrench, cause I thought they would need a friend they most. Unfortunately it didn't work out. Four picked me and its worked out great so far. My fifth one came about when a lady on facebook asked if I would be willing to write to her brother, and I gave her my address and some details about me so she could ask him if he wanted to, and he did.

My 1st pp's ad is kinda different frm others, the others are because we like the same author..lol
