So my penpal sent me a birthday present about 6-7 weeks ago. He sent it to his mom and she sent it to me apparently. He said it should have come weeks ago. I have received 3 letters and two cards since he said he sent the present. He is in Texas and I am in western Canada. Does anyone have any idea why the present hasn't come yet? missing in action? It's a big drawing I think and I guess I have to be on his visitation list which is why he went through his mom. Ive had delayed letters but nothing this delayed! I'm going crazy waiting for it!

Funny enough, my Texas PP sent me a letter than I never received. I waited 2.5 weeks and then I sent him a postcard. We are still wondering where that letter went

Mail often goes missing from Texas. You do not have to be on his visitation list for him to send you any item of mail. He probably sent it via his mum so that he didn't have to cover the extra postage to Canada himself for a large item.

I thought they could only send packages to people on their visiting list? My gift that another inmate had made for us was sent to the other inmate's wife to send to my man's mother to give to me.

The longest it's taken a letter from Texas to here is 3 months and 2 days.

Thats horrible it happened to you I hope it turns up at some point. fingers crossed that it will be late. Iv been sent drawings and even one of his shirts and they got here safely.

You have to be on their visitation list in order for them to send you an Art board which it sounds like that is why he sent to her to send. So his Mom got it and it's delayed getting to you from her or she hasn't gotten it yet?

Ya an art board! And he said his mom has already sent it off! Stupid mail.. I'm just hoping its not lost and its taking it's sweet little time.

I would like to think that my mail went missing but I'm pretty sure my guy got in trouble...*sigh*

Also, has anyone ever called the prison to ask the status of their penpal, whether they were in trouble or not?

I have called about my man but not my pen pal.
