I don't believe that of all people who marry prisoners, just some of the ones I have met on this forum. Certainly not all the ones I have met or seen on this forum.

I'm sorry to anyone I offended. I take several different sorts of medication for each of several ailments/conditions, so I was the pot calling the kettle black.

You are all ridiculous and childish, this happens every time someone states a difference of opinion. This is what I meant by Here We Go: you can't even have a civilized conversation and NOT make it a personal attack on someone's character. Learn some manners next time someone posts a topic. For anyone who is wondering I am not part of a clique either I just think this behavior is uncalled for and never should have started. We don't want to be judged for writing to prisoners by our peers/families but we attack individuals in our own forum for the 'type' of prisoner they write to or their reasons behind it? Then what's the point? At the end of the day we are all in the same boat, paddle together or get the f- off.

This sucks that my post was hi-jacked for drama. This is why I hardly ever go on here. I asked for peoples help and opinion - now I feel like I am better off going back to going at it on my own. Are we not supposed to be a community to support each other? Instead were hen-pecking and offering drama.

You can write to who you want obviously, and it's not the fact that you want to support those who are innocent of the crime they are convicetd of that is odd, because there are plenty of people who do that. What I meant by "odd" is that as Earthmother said, there are lots of other locations where you would find a penpal without having to associate with criminals at all, or the possibility that your research (which I would hope at least includes court transcripts, autopsy reports if it were a murder, and all the evidence presented at court plus anything that was witheld or deemed inadmissible towards the jury) could prove to be incomplete. After all, in most cases the only person who really knows what happened is the individual there at the time the crime occurred.

I'm not criticising you for it, so no need to get all shouty. I'm just trying to understand why you would approach it in that way. Is it because you want to support those who are innocent (in which case, do you aim to help with their appeal costs etc? because that's the real help they need) or is it just because you don't want to associate with criminals?

(and as I haven't read the 2 pages of comments between my previous one and this one, you may have already answered my questions anyway)
