So my daughter is taking a 6 week vacation in Asia and has been posting pictures on Facebook of things they are seeing. I thought I would copy them and have them printed and send them to my pen pal. Then I thought...maybe he wouldn't find that interesting - lol. What are everyone's thoughts on that? I find it interesting because it's my daughter but would another person see it that way? I don't want to send boring things but for the life of me I can't figure out what to send him pictures of. Of course he wants pictures of me but I've sent the only ones that I'm sending of those! I want to send pictures but random pictures that have no meaning to him personally seems weird.

Absolutely send them...if he knows you find that interesting he will too.

I would say yes!! Most people love travel, I would think that just seeing pictures of different parts of Asia would be really cool, I can't think of anyone, incarcerated or not, who wouldn't enjoy some pictures of exotic locale, especially since it's the closest thing to a vacation we can give them.

When I find an open profile on facebook and they have tons of travel pictures I like to creep...even when I don't know them! : )
haha I love seeing pictures of different places, so I would say go for it. If you're worried you can always send a couple that you think are amazing and leave it up to him if he asks for more?

Absolutley send them. I got a letter today from a new DR pp and he said that he loved pictures of anything because they were his window to the freeworld

Totally send them! Every week I pick a far away destination and send pictures for R. He loves it as it takes his mind off of being locked up. He will find them interesting

Our family went on holiday and I grabbed postcards (forgot my camera D'Oh!) from every place we visited. Put a little note on the back about the picture or the history of the area and what we did there... I sent postcards to all four of my PP's and they all loved them. I would encourage you to send them! It really brightens their day.

I remember having similar thoughts about sending vacation photos, particularly landscape shots that nobody was in. However my pen pal loved them and now when I go somewhere he tells me "remember to take photos"

I don't know why you don't just ask if your unsure.......I personally have not seen a prisoner who didn't like mail and pictures but if you think he may not then ask.
