I have a very nice pp who I've been writing with for about 2 years by now. She's about to get released in Oct 2012 and she was so looking forward to it... However, since my last letter (a few months) I've not heard from her, although she's always fast with her letters, even if I'm not in the US. I was trying to google up some infos about her whereabouts and on a forum I found this:

"Hello everyone, I was told that T. has got into more trouble in prison and she was to get out in oct 2012 and as of now she will be there for a very long time. 9 more felony charges added, and she was on parole from Illinois as well, so much for getting out in oct 2012. very sad news to here."

I'm wondering what could have happened to her? I'm really worried for her:/ According to my latest knowledge she's in Alabama...

According to the blog someone is keeping about her, she is now in Illinois.

So could it be the my letter has not even reached her? :S

I know that sometimes, if they've been in for so long, the closer to their release date the more stupid they act because they're scared to go out into the world. They have, in a sense, been "institutionalized."

Other times, the people around them are incredibly jealous at their upcoming release and will cause problems in order to keep them in longer.

I would keep sending small letters, just to let her know that you're still there for her. I'm assuming she's federal? Check the BOP locator. They'll let you know where she is. She may not reply straight away, so just give her some time. She's dealing with a lot right now and even if she doesn't write back straight away she does appreciate the support.

She's been in since 2009, been transfered once to an Alabama prison from Illinois, seems like she's now back in Illinois, but now I'm really not sure which address to send a letter to:S

Really?? That's just sad.

But yes, if you have a few ideas of where she is why don't you try to use the inmate locators to try and find her. Most of the ones that I have viewed have a projected release date as well so you might be able to see if that is actually true or not. Either way, I agree with trying to get off another small letter to show support and let her know you're thinking of her : )

I tried the inmate locator here on WAP, directed me to the Illinois inmate locator, but no address found. For current status it said "parole", but I expected a little more information...

You could try the Alabama inmate search but chances are she is currently in a county jail awaiting a trial. You could try setting up a VineLink alert email for the two possible states, which would then let you know if she entered prison.

If you try our inmate locator (here's the link: WriteAPrisoner.com - Inmate Prisoner Locator) when you click on the state you can scroll down and it does have links for those counties which have online jail pages.
