I've only written 2 letters to someone at Connally. I don't know a thing about that place.

People have mail questions and I answer them, because I have experience.
People have questions about Texas death row and I answer them, because I have experience.
People have questions about Polunsky and I answer, because I have experience.

    Yet I have an ego.
And I got information directly from someone who is in General Population yet for some reason you think he is lying about not having air conditioning? Explain that one.

Saying "I'm not saying you are lying but I just find it interesting you got a response back so quickly" is pretty much saying "I think you are lying". There is no reason for me to make up anything. It wouldn't benefit me at all to lie about that.
PLEASE Mountanddo...just let this go! Lets move on. There are people dying in the World as we speak..so A/C at a prison is NOT a big issue on the grand scale of things is it?This is just winding you and everyone else up, and for me ..it is Friday..i just want to read what is happening with people and chill before the week end. Peace please is not too much to ask..we are adults here !?

No problem! But I'm warning you - my ego might rear it's ugly head.

You've been corresponding with him for how long? Not very long in the grand scheme of things.

Anyway, you've read all about the games inmates play. I'm not saying HE is aging them, I'm just saying that they do. I believe I've already pretty much explained this in this thread, but I will quickly explain again.

Inmates play the sympathy card. Not ALL of them but a lot of them do. "Poor me, poor me.... Send me money." They might not even come out and ask for it. "Poor me, I can't afford a fan." "Bam! Now I have $20 to buy junk food with."

    See what I'm saying?

I know how they (not ALL - the sneaky ones) operate. From experience.

I will also put $20 down that in 3 months, when you get these phone calls, he will be in love with you.

Just to clear this up....... The TDC prisons that were built in the early 90's have the air conditioning duct work done. They just never put in the actual outside air conditioning units. I have been on eight or nine different units, and not a one of them had working A.C. They do have A.C. in all the Administration buildings, which is why a lot of guys/girls choose to go to school. Not one dorm, not one cell block (Seg or General Population) or even one chow hall that I have ever been in had A.C.

I already told you Moxie that he wasn't playing the sympathy card. He was concerned not for himself but for the older inmates. You don't even know who this person is and you are telling me that he is playing games with me? Boy, that's some nerve you have there. Yes, I have been corresponding for only 4 months but I think I know him a bit better than you do no matter how many years you've been writing to inmates at Polunsky. He's never asked me for money, or a fan or anything so I doubt he is trying to get something from me.

But now you've heard it from someone that actually was there so maybe you'll admit that you might have been wrong. Probably not though.

I live in Houston, we had 3 days of 102, since then it has been 77 at night and approx 92 high temp daytime. TX is a large state !! With rain expected all next week keeping temps down with cloud cover.
I do not have to live in TX I choose too, it has many advantages at least Houston does. We are so overcrowded now due to the advantages here.

Florida prisons do not have ac either, they have higher temps then us at this time.

I know for a fact that you are right about the majority of units without A/C, since I have heard that from my fiance too.

Just out of curiosity; were you ever at Polunsky Unit?
