^ So everything blew over with that???

I said something recently that kind of...upset my penpal and we don't have jpay ability at all so I'm going to be sick for about the next ohh....3 weeks or so.

well, it's been about 3 weeks after our "disagreement" even with JPay so I wouldn't worry TOO much about it

Lockdown can affect the mail but not normally because inmates are prevented from sending or receiving during lockdown - quite the opposite: inmates are not permitted to use the phones during lockdown so the volume of mail in and out tends to increase. Alternative scenarios:
He is ill and can't write
He is having mental health issues and doesn't want to write
He has been transfered to another unit and is waiting for his property to arrive
He is in trouble, and he been sent to Ad Seg and had his property removed
He is writing but the mail is sitting in a USPS depo somewhere in Oklahoma or Montana
He had a gambling debt that had to be paid
He gave his mail to another inmate to drop in the box and the other inmate decided not to
It is too hot to do anything more than lay on his bunk in a wet T shirt and boxers all day
He has had a change of job and his routine is taking a while to settle

Lots of different reason why mail could be delayed.

They DO have indoor showers but they also have these outdoor showers at my husband's prison which now that it's a summer are put to use, so no having to wait for your scheduled shower but there is a catch....the water isn't heated. And the prison is up in the mountains. He said it's like jumping double dutch - you hop under the water then out from under it then back under, etc. because it's so freezing!
