I agree. Sometimes we do different ... let's call them "crazy things" and then we do not think about the consequences in the future - about our lives in 20 years time. But often what once seemed to be something socially unacceptable, now considered to be completely normal. Tattoos are a matter of taste of those who choose to wear them on their bodies. I think that there's nothing wrong with that.

This is not my Grannie. (Her religion - Ratana- disallowed photographs of living beings).

But it is a similar moko.
You can see in the image that it is scarified as well as tattooed.

Silas, and it is true that moko was an expression of social status? I heard that tattooing in this way was very expensive and not everyone could afford it.

Tattoos are like cats. Once you get one you just keep getting more and more until the only way to get rid of them is with lasers.
My man has several and I have two that have merged into one. Considering getting at least one more. Mine are only visible if I wear something very skimpy. And if you'd seen my figure you'd know that that's not likely to happen. I see them as a way of personalising the carry case for your soul.

I'm not talking about culture tattooes...I mean if the society accepts the tattooed people like one more...or the society thinks about is something wrong with that!...I was watching "LA INK" on TV, (Kat Von D), and like I've sawn over there, Los Angeles has an open-minded of tattooed people...hasn't it??...the american society is open-minded whith tattooed people or not??...just asking 'cause I don't know and I'm considering 2 go to live in States for 5 or 6 years....by myself no because I meet any inmate or someone special!...
I love Kat von D! I would be over the moon to have a tattoo done by her.
