new here and just curious how many penpals does everyone have? when you first wrote to a few did they all respond back? I'm sure this has been asked before but how long until you heard back? after the first letter.

I have 5. Some responded right away (within a week) and others took a few weeks. Don't get discouraged if you don't hear back right away. Some of the facilities take weeks to get the mail to the guys.

i have 8. everyone that i wrote has responded BUT one, he passed my addy on to another guy that i never responded to. It took like 3 weeks til' i got my first letter back. Longest 3 weeks ever.

Michelle is right, in Europe we have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for the first response but after it goes pretty fast ! Also, there are many reasons why it sometimes takes awhile to get an answer... (out of stamps, lockdown, transfer...) One member said she got an answer 3 months after (she's in the US)...

I only have one. He's the effing best. Though, I wouldn't complain if he decided to write more frequently.

I waited only a couple of weeks or so to get a response from the first pp ........he was just as eager as I was to write and we've been very good at the writing. My boys are good at writing back although i think I'm going to have to drop one of them we are struggling to gel!!!

I am fairly new...I wrote to 3, only 1 has responded so far. We aren't that far from each other so it takes him 3 days to get my letters and it takes me 2 days to get his. I just wrote 2 more yesterday...waiting to see what happens!

I have 7 (unfortunately I lost one as there was something about money in his mind I was not able to go with!), but I could handle it good, as letters need at least very long. Sometimes I have 7 letters or more in a week, some weeks otherwise 1. But I am answering all very personaly and individual and most handwritten, so nobody should believe, I am writing kind of things which I copy and past in every letter.

i have three but thinking of getting another one! its so addictive!
