I am very new to this so i am not sure even if i am in the write topic lol, but i was wonderig when posting mail from the uk how long maybe it is before you get a reply??? thank you if anyone can help. :bigSmile::bigSmile:

Depends where you are sending it to. Mail can take between 4 and 10 days from the US to the UK, but you also have to factor in the time it takes to get a letter to an inmates' hands (not just to the facility) and for them to compose a reply, and perhaps for them to acquire some stamps too.

I would wait at least 4 weeks, and then perhaps send a postcard just nudge them along.

From over seas to the east coast it usually takes about 6 to 8 days from over seas to the west coast about 6 to 10 days. It also depends on the offender having money on their books for stamps, envelopes and stationary.

From my experience, it usually takes about 5-7 days to get to them, and the same for the reply...i guess it depends where you're writing to also, i hatehatehate waiting for replies from CA, they seem to take an eternity!

It seems to take about 5/8 days before you get your first reply though now we have established a link i usually get 2/3 letters a week, the facility i write to does not permit you to supply stamps,:bigSmile:

Im fron england and i write to oregon, i get a letter every 2-3 weeks cuz it takes a week or so to get there, few days for him to write then another week to get back, say ten days and you wont be disapointed lol thats the usual time i expect x
