    Default # of photos...

I have 15 pictures to send to my PP... you think this is too many to send at once? should i break them up ... like 7 and 8 in two envelopes ? what's the most number of pictures you have sent at one time?

Oh.. my PP said he can get as many pics as he wants or whatever... he said 10 is usually a good number to send...only saying that because sometimes they get lost... but if i put his last name and # on the back like he told me to i would think it would be okay..

i dunno, maybe i'm answering my own questions here... what's your thoughts?

from my experience 10 is usually what most prisons state as a limit per envelope and the reason is because if there are more, and the envelope is too thick, us post will reject it or something.

    Hi Hoodwink

It depends, I have sent 15 photos in, in one envelope before, but usually I send a few each letter. The guys I write too, one has no limit as long as they fit well in the envelope, the others have a 15 photo limit, so I never send more than 15, I did once as my pp asked if I minded making some copies of his photos to send to other pp's, so that time I sent 18 back, they all got to him fine.

Best to check with mail room.

Not sure if that helped. lol. xx

I agree with fairygirl. Check with your PP or the mailroom. Different prisons have different rules. In TX, I could send an almost unlimited number of photos. I used to stuff a 9" x 6" envelope full of photos, and they went in with no problem.

In Virginia, though it is a different story. You are allowed to full your envelope up to 1 oz. of material. That means writing paper or photos. But only one stamp allowed, on the outside of the envelope or it might get returned.

So, check locally, to find out for sure. Sometimes that info is available on the prison web-site.

Seems every state is different as usual. Some state no more than 5 pictures at a time, others 10. If it gets too big you have to add extra postage here in USA. I try to stay in 2 ounce rate except states like VA, that will take only one ounce mail. I dislike getting mail rejected not just for loss of money but comtact with pp. I now send just a few per letter so If mailroom rejects something I still have mail to pp!

I've sent over 30 at a time, so long as the postage is correct for the weight, usually you won't have a problem.

My mail goes to Gatesville Texas. The most I have ever sent was 17 at one time. That was because I took my PP on a " date ". Had a cut out of them in every pic along with a brief despription.

Anyway. When I send pics I normally send 5-10. I think " I " get more grief from the postal workers in my post office then my PP ever would. There is one postal worker in particuliar that always gives me a hard time about my heavy letters. One time she waves her hands up in the air and says Oh lord, I am going to have to charge you extra again. I just looked at her and smiled -- would that be exrta money or attitude? Because money I can afford. Its only money. But I can not afford your extra attitude --

I do not know what her problem is. When ever I am in line I am always trying to time it out so I do not get her though. Every single time....anyway, just a vent. So before I hijack this thread..back to topic.

I have never had a problem with sending as many pics as I want. Heck I have inadvertly found out that I can scent my letters even though it says no scented letters allowed. I found this out because my PP asked me once what I scented the letter with. I did not scent it. I figured that I must have put the letter in the envelop after putting lotion on. But she asked me to spray the letters so I started to spray it with my pillow mist and no problems,

Ooops. sorry. high jacking the thread again and getting off topic. Call the mail room and ask. As for can you send to many to your PP? I would imagine not. You are thier outside place. Any bit of the outside you can show them is much appreciated I am sure.
