I seem to have lost the thread that has led me to writing this post, but someone has asked how to find their pp's case info...if you go to openaccess.gov.com and click on "State & Local" and select the state, you should be able to navigate the site to find what you need. Of course, things probably differ from state to state...my pp is in Calif. and I have been able to index his case and obtain all the minutes from his murder trial free of charge on-line. What an eye-opener!!!

that's a very useful piece of info, to locate info for my pp's i have been going through the prisons web site, but there u only have details of the convicted crimes all of which is on their ad anyway. Can i ask was there a particular reason u read the case details? x

The ads on WAP I do believe only list whatever the inmate claimed or stated on his/her form. I don’t think the staff of WAP has the time/manpower to sit there and verify every last conviction that is submitted to them. I could be wrong on that but it’s an educated guess on my part. So if you look at an ad here and it says "robbery" when you click on crime that is what the inmate said they were currently incarcerated for. That doesn’t mean it was the only charge and it also does not verify its accuracy in any way. If you want to find their entire record, you need to dig a little further of course. Many people research their pals. I feel it’s the smarter thing to do but it’s a personal choice/decision that everyone is entitled to make of course.

Well it public information...but I researched because my pal told me he has lost pals when he told them his crime and he didn't want to tell me. There are some that I will not write to including crimes against children, rapists, etc. While his crime was pretty bad, I at least feel much more prepared when he finally does tell me, which he says he will do sometime...but that's up to him. I'm really glad I did this because I was in absolute shock when I read the Tahl report and had the time I needed to digest it. I want him to know that I have done this just waiting for whenever the right time is. But he tells me that he is innocent...
