Just write a first polite letter. Then take it from there.

I'm in the UK and only wrote to people who put 'will write overseas' in their profile. At the time, I didn't really think about it, but now, I have a very special friend who I would love to be able to visit..it's annoying, however its not anything I can change, and I'd rather be able to write to the person and bring us both some joy, than not write at all....

well I will add one more thing for you to think about. MOST people that come out of prison will be on parole, or probation, this of course depends on why they are in ect. IF she is one that will be on parole, she wont be able to leave to another country anyways.

How ever, dont think about those things that hasnt happened yet, write as a friend. Then see what happens

Thank your inspiring me to get off my arse and just put pen to paper and not to worry too much about the future consequences. I'm sure this person I wish to write to will just be glad of a friend.
