Hi all been awhile have had few prob with pc but all good now...My question is what is the area code for Australia one my pp wants to phone and i know there has to be area code to get into australia been trying to find out to no avail im in western australia hes in washington does he need a code to phone out of the states too??????
I thought it might be quicker trying to find out on here rather that the phone co as u spend half day talking to computers and then get put on hold for the rest of the day ha ha ha ...please any info would be great thanks have a lovely day

When your friend rings you in WA he has to drop the 0 in the part of your area code. So say your phone number is normally (if ringing inside Australia)...02 46578819. Drop the zero and he would ring...

washington is in the process of changing its phone system...not all facilities have fully swapped over yet, international calls arent as easy or straight forward as the local calls...its about AUD$55.00 per call

From my understanding squirell, you cannot even make a reverse charge out of Washington now. You have to go through a 3rd party, or have a local number connected to your own through a phone company. Maybe i am wrong, but this is my understanding.

um i think it all depends on which phone company you have, i have a copy of the paper work around here somewhere i should see if that tells me...there is a lot more information about that on another forum that has a WA dedicated phone thread
