    Default Conjugal Visits

Asha,,this is your topic,,I am restarting as a new thread-hope u dont mind.

Anyone being pressured into marriage and thinks its only for the congujal visits?
Anyone waiting to go on a conjugal soon?
Anyone been on one yet? How was it?
From my memory banks it was the best 3 days a girl could ever wish for,,,,and to be honest it kept many married prisoners on the straight and narrow,,,,No one wanted to get violated and lose a visit! I think they need to institute it to more states,,its more than just about sex,,it has defintely proven to lower the violence levels in prisons.

LOL...Yes you could say I have been asked to get married for the visits...I think that all states should have it for the families...It does give them incentive to stay out of trouble and keeps the familes together..

One of our members just this past weekend had her first and she said it was a dream...

My pen pal brought it up but only jokingly. I don’t think I would marry him just for that and then once he was out, I would be married to this man and I don’t know how that would go over.

I also read about a woman from Europe who married a US inmate serving a life term. She wanted children so they had conjugal visits but she was timing them just right to get pregnant. I am not certain how much she wanted the inmate involved in the lives of the children seeing as he was serving life. I don’t even know if that case was real but it doesn't seem too far fetched. If your clock is ticking and you want kids, what’s the harm. I think these visits are great either way as they probably do promote excellent inmate behavior and alleviate stress and fighting inside to some degree.

Asha,,,it might have been an old story if she married him in Cali,,they stopped giving lifers (considered anyone with a life cap dangling as well) visits in 1995, not sure about NY.

I dont even remember where she was visiting him at. It may or may not have been true but Im sure that would not be the first incident of people starting families with inmates. Whether they are in for life or not. I guess the prisoner would need to be able to have some say in it though or at least some honesty as far as the goal of the visits and how much he will be allowed into the children's life if at all.

When i was over visiting, my friend introduced me to his friend who had a new born baby in his arms. She was only a few weeks old, concieved on a conjugal visit. Gorgeous baby and he was so proud, it was his and his wifes only child.
I have another friend who is in the opposite position. She has a great job over there (America) as a manager, and has been earning good money for many years. She has been with her husband now for over 6 years going to and from prison visiting these past 5 years. She would dearly love a baby and has the means to support herself and any future child. Her husband has an extremely long sentence, her visits have not been granted, because although they were together before he was incarcerated, they were not married. She is worried because time is not on there side.

I'm not sure what i support as far as conjugal visits go. As i do not know enough facts to give an honest opinion on the subject.

Smiley I know this might sound crazee but remember the thread about people getting fluids in mail. I would find me a doctor who would see if any survived and do invitro,,fight for the visits later,,laws change everyday

Sperm are only fertile 24-48 hours and die when they dry out.
She is too far away for that to be a reality, and he is in Max Security Penitentiary, so there visits are very restricted. Her only hope really is for the conjugal visits to be granted. Was a good thought though...(smiles)
