I used to have a PP, in Penn., with a life sentence. Earlier this year, the legislature had a bill proposed that would release any lifers who had served more than 25 years of their sentence.
As with most states, Pennsylvania is feeling strapped to maintain their prison populations. So, I'm sure that there are many rumors of early outs, all for the sake of saving money.
All we can do is keep our ear to the ground and wait to see what we may hear.

My PP is a lifer in PA also with over 30yrs inside and he just wrote me a long letter about this Senate Resolution Bill. He tells me that:" it says that those who are 50 yrs or old with a 25yrs or more in prison will be eligible for parole. But this Bill 149 will not be retroactive,which means the bill will not apply for us who are already doing life with 25yrs or more. The bill will be for those who are coming into the system now. So now we have an whole bunch of dissapointed lifers who thought they were gonna get a second change to freedom.
The Bill has not passed yet but it looks like it'll only be for the ones coming into the system now and not for us."

Yes I think so too,but I think they're afraid that all the lifers'll ask for parole at once and there's also this lifer who got early parole and killed 3 old ladies,15 hours after release.Happend few years ago......says my PP. The politicians don't wanna take the risk,bad for their carriers I guess........

that is so bad, you know that people can change, some , not all. that is why myself have a problem with 2.5 million being in prison, fully 1/2 have no business in there they can be out working. I have posted this before, put them a GPS unit and let that take care of that. That unit you done have to report, it will do that for you. But that you to easy and that would too much like the right to do.
