I am going into the hospital tommorow to have a tubal ligation, and was wondering if any of you have had it done, and what was the recovery time. I plan on going to see my special pp on Friday. Am I planning on too much so soon after surgery?

Jennifer, been there, done that (many, many years ago)! Friday might be rushing it a bit but if you do decide to go, wear FLAT shoes or otherwise you'll be in big trouble.

I had a job interview the day after mine when I should have been resting but my recuperation went well.

I had my surgery done on a Monday and I was still out of it that Thursday when went to get my kids. I would wait for about a week because I was cramping up really bad for that long. Just my advice

I, too, have been there done that. I was fine just a few days after. I think it really depends on the individual. Here's hoping that all works out well so that you may still see your pp!

I know it's very young, but what were the effects after surgery? Loss of this and that?

Jane87, I didn't have any negative effects after surgery but, again, that varies among individuals.

You ARE very young for this. Are you absolutely, positively sure? Not meaning to pry.

I had mine right after delivery. Recovery was worse for me than having the baby. I was in major pain. Good luck!

Well the tubal ligation patients I've seen walk kind of hunched over for a few days because of the trauma to the abdomen. Even though the surgery is done laproscopically.....there WILL be pain & discomfort. I personally would reschedule the visit.

My son was born on the first of Dec I had the surgery on the 2nd. came home from hospital that night I didnt walk funny are anything this was done in 2000. They dont do the surgery like years ago they place a small cut under your belly button so there is hardly a scar an its not as painful.Two hours after the surgery I was outside smoking a cigarette. Call me Super Woman cause 15 mins AFTER the birth I also walked down 3 flights of stairs for my cigg lmao
