This is funny you asked because something like this happend to me not to long ago.
My best friend is a lady who is going through a divorce, we been friends before she was married, etc, going on 12 years.
She told me that she's been in love with me the first time she saw me but never had the guts to tell me. She was worried it would scare me away.
I do not have the feelings for her, even though she is so beautiful. I told her I'm flattered but I don't think of her like that. She was sad, but I told her -- remember you're my best friend and I love you for that and I will always, always be you're best friend no matter what. She understood, and to this day everything this the same.
What I am babling about is, I think you should tell him because you don't want to sit back and wonder what if --- you'll know right now. And also, you two are friends and I am sure it will stay that way no matter what!
I was flattered that she felt that way about me, and was sad I didn't have those feelings. I heard once "You can't choose love that LOVE chooses you" --- just maybe his LOVE might choose you... I wish you the best of luck!

Sorry missed the how do you tell him:
Next time you talk with him, Say "I have something I need to talk to you about."
Something like this:
We have been friends for awhile, I value our friendship more than you'll ever know! Something very unexpected happened and I hope this doesn't scare you --- but I have fallen in love with you...
Please spice it up
This would be a good ice breaker..... Remember, he's your friend and friends always help one another.. I think he'll be supportive either way!
Good Luck!

Please if you have any other questions just ask.. My retarded friends call me the "Love Doctor" because I help solve their dating, marriage problems...LOL - funny, advice coming from a guy who's never been in love, sigh --- WIERD!

Hi Cruz,
Yep - tell him. If you don't, you will regret it so take a deep breath and take the plunge. He will always be your friend whatever so you really don't lose either way.
Best of luck

LOL @ gd4or, You can be the WAP love doctor
I will stick with my stupid redneck friends who still DON'T UNDERSTAND, you have to listen to a woman, REALLY listen --- sometimes its not all about them.. SIGH,

How blessed are we to have two intelligent, caring "love doctors" on WAP? I'm impressed!
Okay, Gary, inquiring minds want to know who the special lady is. We're one big happy family with no secrets. LOL!
