I have been writing to my pal for two years and have never been able to access any information about him on the D.O.C site where he is imprisoned,isn't it strange that when i type in his name or # it comes back saying they have "no record" of such inmate? i dont say this out of worry because i got all the facts of his case,however it would be interesting to hear if anyone else ever experienced this same problem.

Isis~~I too have had a very similar problem with one of my former pals. In Ga. He's on death row, and I had been hearing from him regularily for 6 months, then nothing. I kept sending short notes to him, so I assumed he was getting them. Then I remembered he had a lot of health problems, & I feared he had passed from them. I came on this site, asked for help, because everytime I put in the name & # I had been using, it came back as "No record found" which freaked me out. Then, it was suggested I just put his name in, nothing else, and low & behold, he's still there, but has a new number. Makes no sense to me, but I'm assuming it's the same person because they have the same exact birthdate. I guess he stopped writing for reasons he won't share with me. But some of the DOC sites, you have to do several different searches to get the actual inmate you are looking for. Good Luck! ~~~Stephie

If your Pen Pal is in a federal prison then he won't show up on the DOC website...you have to go to another site and I don't have the name of it but I am sure someone does.

Often they don't distinguish between state and federal prisons.
