Default Question For Anyone Willing to Help!!!

Hey guys....well I was wondering my pp says that if me and his family will write his parole board that it could get him out sooner....to show he has support out here and that people are willing to help him walk that straight line...is this true? will it help, could it decrease some of the time he has to do in there...he is eligible for parole and we are already to see him come home!! Please let me know! I have already wrote once...should I continue too, is it worth it?

LME, anyone writing the parole board offering support for an inmate eligible for parole will help. Whether it be emotional, religious, financial, employment, or family support that is being offered... it all truly helps. My advice is to continue writing the board, letting them know who you are and what role you can play in the inmates life once he/she is released. The More support, the better.
Hope this helps you. Please let us know how it goes.

Hi LME, yes any positive action you can could help. Sometimes the parole board reaches a point when they don't know what to do and letters and promises of a good life for an inmate can help them. Mind you, I am not saying this is definite. Basically your pp must have proved that he can be a better citizen and no threat to the community. You must be able to prove to the parole board that you can provide stable acceptable accommodation and steady employment and family contact. You must be able to prove to the board that your pp has a future and will no longer re-offend. Good luck.

It will help him for the parole board members to know that the inmate has support.
I have written the board for a friend who I am helping now and will help after release and I did get a positive response from the board to let me know that my support will help in their decision and the letter(s) will be placed in the inmate's file for review. I don't think support or letters will help get an early release but will help at the date of the parole board decision.
