What a cool idea. I am th emost uncreative person alive I'm afraid. I do need to step it up. One of my pals is into phsychology so I send hinm tons of stuff from the internet and he loves it, I have learned alot from that. My other pal like astrology, have learned alot about that too! I like the ball game idea, sounds like you and your pal have alot of fun!!
The people I meet here on WAP are some very amazing, intelligent and wonderful people. And you both are at the top of that list! These are great ideas, and I am axiouse to hear more. I just got my first letter from my first PP yesterday!!
that's definitely a creative game! the one i used to play was nothing creative at all. i used to play tick tack toe with my pen pal. i heard of playing scrabble but how would you do that??
I've printed a battleship game on card stock for my pal and I, and we play that through letters. I know of people that play chess with their pals also.
Lizzie, we used to play TTT. One game could draw out for almost 2 weeks. You don't want to play that game if there a holiday, am sure you know what I mean! LOL
Marlena,
I'm not very creative either, but I have my moments (smile). That's why I posted this thread, maybe we can exchange some ideas, especially since I saw a quite a few new faces around here lately. I think it's very considerate that you send information about certain topics your penpals like. My special penpal is into Africa and I'm sending him African folk-stories once in a while. He loves them! You just have to find something he's interested in and then it's a piece of cake...
Lizzie,
About scrabble. I think you'd have to make a board on a sheet of paper. Then you place a real scrabble board at your home. You take your own letters and then you pick his letters as well. You send your penpal the sheet of paper and tell him his letters. He fills in his word on the paper and sends it back to you. On your real board you place his word and pick new letters for him. Then you place your own word. You write your word on his paper board and send it back to him, and tell him his letters (the ones that remained from last time and the new ones). I've never tried it though, so I'm not sure if it will work.
I haven`t really done any ongoing games with my penpal but I have sent him word searches and crosswords from newspapers. He really likes that.
Right now we are both reading the same book so that we can talk about it. He really liked that idea.
I also send those friend quizes to him that we get over the e-mail. I fill one out and enclose a blank one for him to fill out and send back.
Sometimes I send interesting articles from magazines or newpapers for him to read.
That`s about all I do. But thanks for everyones ideas from the post I will try some other things too now.
Yes we are playing a game, sort of. We are writing a story together. It works like this. I will write 2-3 pages telling a story, fiction, then I send it to my pp who writes another 2-3 pages and I do the same when I receive the reply. It's not any fabulous work of art or anything but it is a great way to share and do something together.
Something else we do is read a book together and then discuss it. I will order a book and have it sent to the prison and then we both read it and share our ideas of the book what we liked/disliked the characters we related to or despised, etc. That's is a lot of fun.
Will
hello everyone. I haven't written in a post yet, but this one got me thinking. I'm always looking for new things to write to my pp and make him smile. Since he has two children, I thought of writing a story with a few words missing. I can't remember the name of the books I use to buy as a child? But anyway the missing words are adjectives, verbs, nouns etc.. and I am going to ask him for these words in the next letter. Then when he sends me the words I'll put them in my story that I wrote about him and his kids and send it to him. He will have made his own story and from what I remember these things often end up very silly!
