Any Suggestions???
I thought that I read in a post a few wks. ago that our pp's in Prison can't recieve things off the internet. Like printed material. Is this true? Also, Just wondering if you do send things from the internet, what do you send? In need of some ideas. Thanks ~

I've been able to send my ppp some information printed off the internet but can only send 2 pages at a time without a problem at all. As far as ordering anything off the internet, you might want to check with him to see what you can/can't send him. I do know some prisons are picky about stuff like this. I know my ppp can only have 2 "care packages" a year. 1 "care package" at a time and it can be either food or clothes and only a certain amount money wise.

Your best bet is to check with the prison or your PP.

I`ve sent printed internet material (2-3 pages only) to both Fla and CA without any problems so far.
I cut the name/addy of the web-site off the pages before sending them. Don`t know if you have to do this or not, but I did it just in case!
I agree with 4Shizzel. When in doubt, its best to contact the prison.
Some of the states have on-line advice about what you can send, but unfortunately, other states don`t.

I have had no problem sending loads of material printed from websites to state and federal prisons in Texas. Today I'm sending another letter with at least 15 pages of extra stuff. Based on the recommendations of others, I removed the URL from the pages just to be safe. Internet Explorer can be configured to leave it off the page.
One of my penpals brought something to my attention recently. Prison rules are interpreted by the staff based on the day and their shift. Some interpret items and behavior as acceptable while others reject it.

I do just as feline....trim off the web address/URL. One facility in Ohio, where my pal was, had an 8 page limit for things like that, articles, etc. But no limit of pages where actual letters were concerned. They also had a limit of 3 photos per envelope where my pal in IN, there is no limit.

Thanks Again Everyone. I just recieved my 2nd letter from my PP. & in it he said no CD's, no "Stickers", no to alot of things except for letters, cards, & photos. Wow.. I didn't know that they could recieve such little. But, yes, I'll contact the Prison in PA. to ask before I send anything more than pics.& letters.

DSch2nd, when you hear from PA prison, would you post their answer? I only know the ones that were listed on the mailroom slip. I posted that awhile back. Thanks!
