i was just wondering why an inmate would put their address on this website if they're not intending on writing back? the least thing that they could do if they're if they're not interested in being my pal is to write me and let me know that. it's been two weeks and as far as i'm concerned, that's long enough to respond to a letter!! so people, should i just give up on this whole pen pal thing or what?? i don't have time to waste on writing people if they don't write back!!

Don't give up!! If it is truly your wish to have a penpal then try another. I have tried several times since April and have not recieved responses. There are many reasons why you might not get a response. Remember inmates do not have access to the internet to remove their ads. Please don't give up all together. There is someone out there who wants to hear from you, but it is up to you to find them. Look at it as an adventure in discovering the compassion you have for others. If you keep trying you never know what you will find in yourself or in someone else.

There are lots of reasons why mail can either be slow, or simply not get to its destination. It is a regular thing for ppl to be moved from prison to prison and that not only slows the process down, but gives it one more avenue for it to get lost.

Some prisoners that are advertised on the sites have also since placing their ads, left prison. Some of the Ads also say that the person is up for parole on wotever date and in a lot of cases even tho the date has passed, the prisoner is still incaserated, coz not everyone makes parole.

Its a case of keeping on trying until u find the right person...jes like it is in the outside world!! The choice is up to u as to whether u keep trying or not. Personally, I have 45 new friends over the last yr coz I aint one to give up on wot I want to achieve.

thanks blumoone and nycki for reponding. i found a few more people to write so i'm not gonna give up just yet. as far as that one guy i wrote, i've saw him on a few differant web sites and the address is the same on both. his parole date is 20013 so i don't think he's been released. oh well, maybe i'll have better luck with these other guys, huh?
