Unfortunately I've found that mail is currency and if the inmate has found someone (or not), you can be sold to the highest bidder - for stamps, cigarettes, whatever. That's why it's wise to have a PO Box for an address. Also, a prison guard who had a crush on my guy, took his letter to me out of the prison, opened it, read it & readdressed it to me. She was stupid, because she mailed it from a different city, and of course I noticed the difference and that the envelope was typed- (he did not have access to a typewriter.) He filed a grievance against her. She worked in the mailroom. Nothing was done to her even though we had proof. So who are the real criminals?

that is awful. she is correct, at one time Fl was allowed us to mail in stamps, i think, they still can, and i mailed one of my guys a book of stamps. he never got them and i was wondering what the heck was goin on. well it turns out that this lady in the mail room was keeping the stamps for herself. she got in big trouble and was fired, the guys there was put 10 dollars in their trust funds because of this, this happen a little over 2 years ago.
it seems every where these guys go, they are shunned and cant trust any one. it is really a shame

Thanks for the warning! Some of my guys ask me to send them books of stamps, but I haven't because I figured they could get stolen. Instead, I send them a self-addressed stamped envelope.
