Isnt that what that one child molester broad was claiming? That she was "too attractive for prison." Debra Lafave? I guess that excuse doesnt work as well for middle aged men...
haha im not sure. im actually going to print this off and send it to my boyfriend rofl i think he'll get a kick out of it.
Yeah its cute. It just reminded me of that comment by her lol. Dogs in the pound always look like prisoners to me. Its sooo sad. The worst is adult dogs and cats that have had a family and then they move or something and cant keep them. It must be very traumatic for them to have a home and then lose it. )-:
Asha, to think of that makes me cry. I have a huge spot for animals. No Homes!
Just call me Rhonda, please dont sing, Help me Rhonda, I have heard it a million times! LOL
Yeah I was a foster parent to dogs through a program called AFRP (Animal Friends Rescue Project) I had one of the lost Katrina storm dogs in fact. I called him Jolly but his origional owner saw him on the website and claimed him! I found out his real name was Pete. He got an all expense paid trip to California for the time he lived with me and then shipped back to New Orleans heheh.
awww asha. thats really nice. I would hate to get attach too them , then have to send them back. that has to be the hard part.
you know me, i love animals.
guess what hubby got me for our anniversary, hehehe, another chihuahua puppy, awwwwwwwww, he is sooooooooo tiny, his name is George![]()

Awww, they are so tiny full grown let alone as pups. Yes Lulu I was sad when I got the call. The man sounded very tired, worried and scared I would not give Pete back to him. I assured him I would but he just required the vet to release him for travel as I was treating him for heartworm. That’s part of what AFRP does is place sick animals in foster care but they pay for all the treatment through donations. It was very sad to let Pete go but I felt good that he went back to his owner. What had happened was when the storm was coming, the guy had tied Pete up in the back yard with a lot of food hoping he would be able to come back and get him at some point. Pete got scared and dug out from under the fence. Good thing he was picked up by animal patrol people. He most likely was wandering around on his own for a while drinking that standing water so he contracted heartworm. Luckily it was in the early stages when they found him so it was treatable.

I know! I guess that could happen. I think the policy with AFRP is you keep the animal until it is claimed and in exchange for that, all of its food, training (if needed) toys, leashes, bowls, everything is paid for by them for the entire time you have the dog (or cat). So you are never the "owner" but simply the care giver. Then after a certain amount of time, you do have the option to adopt but if you do that, you then take over the financial responsibility for the animal and it becomes yours. I had Pete, I think about 8 months before the owner found him on the net. I just planned on either keeping him indefinitely or adopting him out if they gave up looking for his owner. That way I could shelter another dog. If you are interested go to AFRP on the net as they have organizations almost everywhere and you can shelter dogs or cats. It just keeps them from going stir crazy in kennels until they can be adopted. Its a great program.
