I also did this, went out of my way to send nice stamps only to be told they are "ripped off" before they are received. See what happens when SOME people try to smuggle drugs in under the stamps, all suffer!!

well we only have 1 stamp here so I don't mind if they ripp it off or not. if they give him my post it's good.

You're not having a blond day it's just hard to dig out where and what the regs are.

What I have found helpful to me is Article 4 in the following link at about page 69 depending on your Adobe reader.

PB removes stamps, glitter is not allowed, tape anywhere is not allowed, colored paper is but watermark paper isn't. The "guidelines" are somewhat accurate but you should talk to the CO in charge of the mail room too. Block your caller name and be very general as to who you are writing to, only the level and what is allowed is my advice.

I found that if I'm pleasant, they are too. They didn't know who I was writing to just had a concern.

Just wanted to write to penfriend in Gp on coloured paper. Thought when i brough it it was a good idea then realised its a max prison. I am from the UK so if i had thought about it i would have asked him first. Just do not want him to get into trouble on my behalf.

The only thing i know is that you can't put lipstick on the envelope so no kisses and i'm not too sure but i think no perfume either...but i am positive about the lipstick i tried to do it and it was sent back to me. I would not even try to take a chance to make a card id prefer to buy, one they are real strict at that prison.

I called the mail room, nightmare, anyway he told me to ask my PP for a list of mailing rules, which i did because I keep having to check what's allowed and what's not.

watermark paper what is that? i've never seen that

Is it paper that has a picture faded onto it? I made some invitations for my parents before and used a watermark of a rose so that it was in the background but not dominant.
