I would like to see a new section on the board FROM inmates. Much like inside out news if it could be done. Has anyone thought of this or attempted to try? Would others be interested??

Great idea, Smiley. I often shared many threads and posts with my former PP, which she loved to read. I also told her that I would be glad to share any comments, that she had, on the forum. After all, it is our PPs who support this site with the fee that they pay for their ads. It would only be right that they could express themselves on here.

Happy to see you post a reply and thoughts. The reason i suggested this is many can then have their opinions heard on subjects that are important to them, so in turn we may become aware of issues not even known to us as pen pals. I know just writing those few i do all have VERY different views on prison life. All are in different states and stages of their life also, so that reflects in their thoughts.
One thinks he lives well and stress free, witnessing only a hand full of fights in the last 3 years. Has 2 jobs, clean place to sleep, is being educated, being fed, clothed and for the most part treated well by the guards and staff. Another friend shares many thoughts similarly reflected in ASE's posts.
Anyway it was just a suggestion......

Yes. I think that they might have a lot to say. And, I think that they might not feel so isolated if they could express thoughts and opinions. For many of them, their whole being, their whole existance is reduced to a number on their shirt. They are referred to as "Offender #****", with not even a name. It is no wonder that they come out and are unable to cope with the outside world or to even make a simple decision such as which sandwich to order at McDonalds. If they are allowed to expand their thinking power, they might be better prepared.

I think this is a GREAT idea Smiley!

It would give a very different angle on things and I really think it would add to the diversity of the forum.

I hope it can happen!
