My question to you Adam is...... beside the obvious costs incurred with the of running writeaprisoner, what else do you do to support the incarcerated with monies earnt from writeaprisoner?
Who came up with the concept and why was it born?

P.S...... Just for the record, i think this is a great out reach for many, and it truly does change lives. Some for the better, but i am sure the opposite is also true.

Books Behind Bars – Helping underfunded prisons receive educational materials. We purchase and ship many of these ourselves.

Scholarship – Pending. Going to donate a $1000 at a time to children who have been impacted by crime. I already have three professors willing to sit on this committee.

Back to Work – Already up and running, but just wait. This is one of those projects we’ve been working on behind the scenes. We’re opening it up at no charge to the entire American prison population. I’m hopeful it will help soon to be released and recently released offenders find work. We have some great ideas to get this cooking!

The prison ministries are to be credited as the founding fathers of online prisoner correspondence. Our site was based largely on what they were already doing.

We hear from dozens of inmates weekly wanting their ads removed because they have found people to correspond with. The people using this site have had an enormous and positive impact on thousands of inmates. Being in the driver’s seat of this thing, I can tell you that the bad has been very minimal and to date, no major incidents of any kind.

Adam thank for taking the time to reply. I can only hope you have great support where needed, and WAP continues to grow from strength to strength, which in turn will enable you to help many become productive members of their communities, be that inside the walls or out.

I am glad wap exists as the time for printed lists to be distributed by mail, seems to be fading. Anyone who thinks they can sell names for people to write and make a buck is soon for the poor farm.
Thank you for your efforts and the search by orientation, I check wap ads weekly!

ahhhh Sorry, but you will see it all piece by piece. This site is going to thrill and amaze soon enough. It takes a lot of time, but it's coming I'll keep you posted.

There are three full time employees if you count me. The other two work 40 hrs. a week. It's paid work. Programmers and such work virtually full time too, but they are from all over. It's a big site, and it requires a lot of work
