Forum Rules - Read This First !!

Hello gang,

I know our forum, for the most part, has been drama free for a while now.

It has been great!

I just wanted to re-post the forum rules on the forum, since I know so many of us take a short cut to here, and kind of bypass the page where these are listed.

I also wanted to clarify this :

If it happens off of the forum, there is nothing we can do about it.

If you are having a personal issue with someone outside of the forum, address it with that person outside of the forum. We will not remove someone from the forum just because you don't get along with them.

I will not allow myself, or the other moderators on the forum to get caught up in a personal situation that occurred off of the forum. We are all adults and not children here.

If your personal situation leaks onto the forum and the banter between the parties crosses the line, consider your self warned, administrative action will be taken.

No, I am not making threats, No, I am not angry, I am simply addressing this because it needs to be addressed.

No, I am not speaking to any one person, or any particular situation. So please, don't take this personal.

Forum Rules :

Please Respect and Follow
a few simple sules when using the forum.

1. Any advertisements for commercial businesses will be removed.

2. No inappropriate postings (e.g. racial slurs, threats or any messages that may be deemed offensive). Do not post libelous or defamatory comments about other users. We will cooperate with court orders. We give everyone a chance to voice their opinion. We simply ask that you exercise tact and respect when doing so.

3. Inmates do not have access to the Internet. Please do not post messages for inmates in the forum. They cannot receive them.

4. Because of legal matters and the fact that we cannot verify the information, posting allegations or negative comments about inmates listed on WriteAPrisoner.com is not permitted. If you wish to share information about a particular inmate on our website with other visitors, post the inmate's name and your email address so people can contact you directly. However, if you have a complaint about an inmate on our website, you should always contact us directly. We will take appropriate action when necessary. We work hard to provide the safest and friendliest environment for all of our users. Your direct feedback to us will ensure this.

5. While we applaud everyone's efforts to help inmates receive mail, this is not the place to post requests for pen pals for inmates not listed on WriteAPrisoner.com. A great deal of time and money is spent into bringing visitors to our website, and this is funded 100% by the inmates who have placed ads on WriteAPrisoner.com. It is simply unfair and unethical to expect them to pay for everyone else. We appreciate your understanding of this important issue.

6. Sending unsolicited e-mails to members of this forum is prohibited. Anyone sending such messages will be reported to their internet provider.

7. Please note that posts are sometimes copied and sent to other people. This is an open forum and the views you express may be shared with others, so please be selective in what you write.

8. Users are not permitted to have more than one ID (User name). Any user caught purposely misleading
WriteAPrisoner.com or its users will have all accounts
permanently suspended.

Notice: We do not intend to censor messages based on the opinions expressed within those posts, but we will enforce the policies outlined both here and on the forum. By entering, you agree to abide by all rules outlined above

If your "Editing of Post" becomes an issue of making threads out of context, or down right confusing multiple threads, your user name will be deactivate.

Now, I don't mean editing typo's or minor stuff, I am referring to the removal of the entire content.

If you need to go back and edit out an email address, a name, a state, that is fine...

However, if it is a serious issue where multiple threads are effected by this, and it then becomes an issue of taking the thread as a whole out of context, then action will have to be taken.
