The Sky's Wonder
Sparkling, shining down from above,
the white hot orb to hate or love.
Sweet sunshine kisses on your cheeks,
tanning them with long summer weeks.
Making water glisten with rainbow hues,
accenting dirt kicked up by your shoes.
Moving from east to west in the day,
letting the moon come out to play.
Round and so brilliantly pale,
underneath its light our dreams sail.
Star sprinkled nights in which to sing,
with your friend in a bonfire's ring.
Shooting stars flying by for a wish,
so much beauty you will have to miss.
Whispy clouds flying in a blue sky,
finding shapes with your clever eye.
Thunder storms shaking your house,
making you feel smaller than a mouse.
Lightening's glare and thunder's boom,
keeping you awake in your darkened room.
Rain drops soft and cold fall on you,
cleaning the earth making it seem new.
Rainbows appearing when the storm ends,
colours blissfully playing on the bends.
The sky and all its wonders above your head,
are best seen from above an earthen bed.
