Oh man... I had a BAD case of the sticky fingers when I was about 13. Me and my friend would save bags from stores... then go into the store that matched the bag and just load it with crap that we didn't need. Thankfully we never got caught but those stores now have mirrors and cameras set up. It was stupid stuff too like bracelets, underwear, rings, makeup. I'm so glad we never got caught, it's one of those things you look back on and you're like, "What was I thinking!? That's SO senseless!"

I used to do that! My friend and I would ditch school every day and then steal like $4,000 worth of **** from stores using the bag method. I'm not exaggerating either, we stole electronics, expensive cosmetics and clothes, perfumes, books, whatever. I donated a lot of it to charity, but there was just so much...

I’ve heard of the "bag method". Not that I ever did that, the condoms were my first and only fall from grace but I saw people taking bags from a store, like the stiff kind and then lining them precisely with tin foil. I guess you then put the items in the bag but the tin foil acts as a block for the sensors that the stores use so you won’t set off any alarms as you leave. Is that the bag method? I saw it on COPS lol.

I don’t know. I've never been very "theft savvy". The basis for the tin foil is to get larger, more expensive items out the door I would imagine. Items that would be too cumbersome to simply run away with if the alarms went off. If the stores have invested in an alarm system, it seems likely that they also have a rentacop that will try to chase you down and at least detain you till the real police can arrive. Anything over $500 is a felony I think. I guess it’s a slightly more sophisticated way to go about it. I don’t know though. I have virtually no real life experience with this sort of thing and I saw this all on a TV program. I hope you don’t do this anymore! We will all need to chain our computers to the desks. heheh

Gosh I wish you could just edit a post! Another reason for leaving the items in the box and trying to walk out of the store with them intact is that many of these thieves have plans to fence the items on the street, EBay, wherever they do it. So they are trying to sell the items as brand new, intact and in the original packaging.
