Just wondering if there are many people who write to Aussie inmates??... I'd love too, and I've written to a couple, but I never got a response... I wonder why?....

Just curious if anyone else has had the same sort of troubles, or if its just me??

From how I understand it chicksta you would have a better chance of being able to contact prisoners if you ring or write to the individual prison chaplains. They will be able to tell you which inmate has the most needs, and organise clearances.
Also we have higher levels of privacy for individuals in this country, 'some' institutions have the prisoners provide a list of people they will be corresponding with. If you're not on that list you won't get mail, nor will they recieve yours. It's a privacy issue.

They take care of 'care packages' and letters.
Not a lot of people realise that some foreign prisons don't privide the basics for inmates. And family and friends have to provide the very basics. Which is fine for the younger guys but if you have a life sentence as you get older so does your family and sometimes the family forgets or they die off leaving prisoners with absolutely no support.
