I really don't know how to start this. I think first I would like to say there are a lot of wonderful people here doing very great things. But then, I have to say I feel a litttle out of place because my situation is so much different from most folks here. I am not writing to a pen pal; but to my wife who is incarcerated. I don't write because I have to but because I love her, miss her, and desire her more than mere words are able to describe. I don't know if I am missing it or if it just isn't here. This forum is the closest thing I find but it seems to be very slow. Not a lot going on. My wife only has one more year to go at the most. With any prayers answered it could be only 7 more months. So maybe I am in the wrong place. My heart goes out to all the brave people on this site who take the responsibility of writing someone in prison for life, or on DR, or just writing to someone they have never met or know. My hat is off to all of you. May God bless each and every one of you with His greatest blessings.

What a lovely sharing I am glad your wife is a "short timer"! If we were all the same we would have nothing to learn and share. You are in the right place and time. I wish you much peace and serenity this holiday season.

I hope your wife is released sooner than the year left . While most of the people here mainly correspond with Pen pals some do have loved ones in prison or have been in prison them selves . I am sure if you expressed a concern you will find a lot of good support

There is not really a lot of support for people with loved ones incarcerated especially men with wives incarcerated . A search usually brings up a site fthat i do not recommend a lot of the the women there are either Death ow or Prison gruopies . A lot of them are in very unhealthy relationships with a person who is a repeat offender .Therare other issues as well . it is too bad because people who do have honest info do not say much if they even are on that site

I have never sugarcoated prison or on the other hand exaggerated what it is . One thing it is not is anything like what you see on TV or OZ that is not even close . I'll always try to give out the best info I can or am willing to share .

Well, that is something to hear. I pray the best for you and for your wife and all that are involved and touched by this in your family and life.

As you may or may not know, my son is incarcerated and I too feel that the postings are sometimes slow here, but that is how some of us here feel sometimes that I have spoken with. It is not however, how it is all of the time.

I have gained so much help and insight from this sight and sometimes you just have to be patient when you don't want to or feel you cannot be and see what happens. Have some faith so to speak.

Then again, not everything is for everyone .

I feel you were led here for a reason, of not to gain something for yourself at this time in your life without your wife close by, then to give some of yourself to others who needed what you have to give. It is not always about getting but about giving and that is our way of receiving as well.

I only hope and pray that I was able to give as much as I have received here. I appreciate all that have contributed to my son and my plight with prayers,information, words of kindness, legal advice, a poem, a story of their own, or whatever.

I would have liked to be able to try a bit more to do for you Angelbear what was done for me because for the short period that I have spoken with you and/or read your posts, you seem to have such a generous and loving personality.

Angel Without Wings, I am familiar with your story as I have spent some time reading posts and threads. I must say I can not imagine what it must feel like to have a son or daughter in the system. It is bad enough having a wife. But, I want to say how touched I am by your reply to my post. How heartwarming and touching. You are absolutely correct about the giving. You may be right in our assessment of me being led here because I was a moderator on another site that is very very similar to this one. But it just got way too crazy there. I enjoy this site because it is so much more laid back and maybe my feeling lost was because I am having difficulty relating to most here because it is mostly pen pals. But, I will continue to come here because there are some wonderful people her like you, Whiterose, ASE, and Merrill. Thank you
