What does everyone do with letters and belongings they have come home with from visit or been sent? How do you keep the letters you have written, if at all ,that they have given you for safe keeping?

I have a file on each of them. I place the letter in that. As long as I been writing, I have collected way to many for me too even keep all of them. Lord only knows I did the first few years I wrote to them. so, I ended up getting a box, placing all the older letters in there. well, after years of that, I had no more space to keep them LOL so, Now, I scan the letter, ( durn scanner broke) BUT, scan the letter and made a file on here and placed in there.

so far I just keep the letters in a lock box I have, when it gets full I will throw oldest ones out to make room for new ones. Only have my guy who I am planning on keeping everything he sends me. Still on first box there so have time to figure out how to do his lol.
I do scan all his artwork photos he sends and post them on his myspace page for him then send the originals back to him.(of course after I save them to a file on my computer in case I ever need to re-add them to his myspace)

I have all the ones from John when he was in prison in 1987 before I 'married" him. Other PP's I save for two years then only keep those for people I still write or where art work was sent.

I have a ton of legal work in 3 big suitcases under my stairs, letters i used to put in folders each page in a plastic sleeves, but after a couple of years i had more folders than i knew what to do with, so now leters are kept in a draw next to my bed, then when i have a months worth they get put in a big envelope and put in a box, i have alot of boxes now, i also have a box for PP letters too, all poems and pictures go in frames and on my bedroom wall, except the paintin my TX pal did for me which is in pride of place in the living room,
i have a pair of my hubbys old basketball shoes, which are in my wardrobe next to my shoes, i have tshirts which i use as nighties, and a sweatshirt which has come in very handy with the snow we have had, i got his socks n undies too lol "clean ones"
ive had alot of his "junk" sent me over the years as he is trying to hang on to ALL my letters, he keeps re/organising them making more room throwing away envelopes and cutting bits of paper off that i hadnt wrote on, he has admitted he will have to admit defeat soon and send some back for me to look after, and i guess then i will have to get yet another box.

I have 3 big boxes of letters, photos, drawings & clippings i've been sent since i started out writing in 2005...must admit though, i'm a bit of a hoarder, can't bear to get rid of them...even the old ones!

This is my first posting on WAP; have been reading for months but never posted. I have had several pen pals over the years, lost contact after they were released. However, I've kept some of the letters in a big shopping bag on the top shelf of a closet. I've thought of tossing them since they have gotten old and I havent written anyone for a while, but i hang on to them. Hand written letters are a precious thing in this internet and instant messaging age.

I just recently wrote letters to three prospective pen pals from this sight, and am waiting for replies so I'll have to come up with a new plan if any of them respond.
