Thanks for sharing ASE, very interesting.
As gf from a man in prison, we talked alot about his attitude and behaviour inside. It's one big war zone, and it scares me. When i dont hear from him, for some weird reason i will always think the worse.
He promissed alot! Be honest, never cheat on me once out, tread me good, etc. The only thing he never could promise is be good inside. He means with that, when he need to fight he will, and take all the consequenses for granted. He said im sorry Penny, i just can't promise that (i asked him to do that). I cant just sit down, and igorne violence what is against me. In no time im a target.
But over the years i understand him on this point. Doesnt mean i'm not worried anymore.
But i understand this is the attitude what let him survive.

Penny I don't mind sharing somethings if it helps of course There are things I prefer not to talk about unless I really have to for very good reason .
I too could never promise i would not fight in prison that is part of the mentality at least for men .IT not not that all of them want life to be like that but a few do make life hell for every else . A lot of Bosses and Rank encourage this and use it as a means of "control " by not doing anything or actively participating in the crimes/ extortion selleing of contraband . I saw more than one dirty boss involved in this themselves and walked off . If the truth be known Guards are the biggest cause of problems in prison by their action or inaction .As well as bringing in most of the contraband .Some bosses are worse than those they are watch over
So If i help one person it is good .
Angle w/o wings if you want PM me maybe I can help you a little or at least give you some advice to pass along you and your son .

Sending you all my love and support from Hong Kong for a successful outcome for your son.
ASE your insighful comments are fascinating. I have often heard the term 'ad seg' but I had no idea what it meant and that you get put there for misbehaving whilst in prison. I clearly have a lot to learn!

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, opinons, concerns, and insights concerning my youngest son who is incarcerated.

I have not heard from him in 2 weeks and am concerned. I try not to say worried because to me it is a sin to worry. Yet, I am human and bot, oh boy do I ever feel fear creeping up my spine. But I am also a firm believer of God and I know what he can do and has done for me and others for so very many years.

I may not understand why things happen, but I do understand that all things happen for a reason. It is not for me to know everything. I cannot always lean to my own understanding of things or I would be a crazy person living inside of my own mind.

Thinking all kinds of thoughts about what could be happening to my son in prison. I cannot live like that and would not want anyone else who has someone they love incarcerated to live like that.

it is more than difficult not to think about my son Victor every day, especially when I do not get a letter from him or I cannot afford to put money on the phone that week or weeks so that we can hear one another's voice.

He has not asked for any more money and I have not heard from him.

Prayers are powerful things and I appreciate all of yours more than you know!

God Bless you all and keep you and yours safe and happy.

I pray for my son daily and will let you know....when I know.

I have surgery tomorrow and will be away from the computer for a few days (about 5) but will be back as soon as I am able.

Be Blessed!
and thank you!

Angel ,
You might want to try and contact the chaplains office. Tell them who you are and you are concerned about your son. They usually will go and speak with the offender. At least in TDCJ the do/ did most of the time

Each facility has an 'Extortion Officer' and it should be immediately reported.

What's an Extortion Officer? A "Guard" with that title?
Isn't that like snitching? If so, that's not looked at too kindly in prison. Once it is known that my son had reported it (and I feel it would be known since not even some guards can be trusted), my son would be considered a snitch and that would cause him problems with everyone.

If it's not like snitching............I don't know. Somehow, it seems reporting it would have been what I would have wanted for him to do on the one hand and on the other hand, I would like for it to be handled without "telling" on the other person so- to- speak.

I appreciate your response, thank-you, Skye.

Although, my son just decided to no longer give him any money and it is now over. At least, that is what my son is telling me

God Bless you all and thank you for your responses to this serious situation that obviously needs to be handled in many of the facilities. I can see why the facilities have "Extortion Officers."
