I have a simple question: Why ? What´s wrong ?

Here in Germany you couldn´t win when you say that you are for DP.

Majority still believe in the DP, would be cutting ones throat to declare they are against it at this time. In the future can make changes happen while in office.

My thoughts on McCain, he has already proven and the Republican party, I would not vote for more years of that !!! So, choice left is Obama for me.

Andreas, we have Obama and McCain from which to choose from here in the US. This is not Germany so we need work within those confines for the time being.

Of course asha, you have these two presidency candidates. My thoughts are what would happen when both would be against DP. Would no-one elect them ? I don´t think so. That´s why i asked me why it is so important to declare to be for DP.

I think Peanut essentially answered that question for you. Germany learned from its past errors. The US, eh, getting there, maybe, but you might need to bash us over the head with a brick a few more times unfortunately. You also have a LOT of people in this country that are of the mindset that when a crime is so horrendous, death is a satisfactory recourse. Those people are not going to go “poof” over night either.

You are completely right asha, i strongly believe that our nation has learned from our errors in the past. But do you know which nation it was, which gave us support for surviving and learning ? It´s not forgotten here. This make it hard to understand how this progressive nation deals such problems as DP.

Well I don’t know what will happen. McCain might win come November. There are many people in the US who are happy with the way things are going and won’t mind another "Bush" type President. McCain is a war hero from Vietnam and he’s older than Moses and he will take all of the conservatives. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping enough people are fed up with how things have been run during this past administration and are looking to new ideas. Obama can’t blow it right now. Not with everything he has invested in this thing and NOT at this stage in the game. The Republicans are going to come out looking for blood so we cant have Obama appearing all ***** right now....I guess that’s the only excuse I’m able to make about it. lol

I personaly agree with him this is a crime that does deserve the possibilty of the D.P.
there are different ways to murder someone it doesnt have to be a physical death .as one of the senetors said last night when you are talking about a little girl fighting off a 300 lb man who now cant ever have children because he raped her that is a hannass crime! we has a case here where a man molested a 3 month old baby tell me that does not deserve death !!!!!

About what i think in general is the question which value does a human life have. Because of my nations history is a human life the highest legally protected interest, anchored in our constitution.
It´s no doubt that we talk about an abominable crime. But the offender is a human being. We also had such a case and the offender got this, what you name LWOP, here it is life sentence plus security custodianship. It´s a strength of a modern society to allow such people a minimum of rights. Otherwise a nation could use legal systems like the shariah.

well life without the possiblity of parole would suit me fine these people are monsters once they decide to become rapers of babys they then are no longer human in my eyes
