thanks Jennie for the post... can i ask where you get your information? I've looked for sites that list the execution dates and haven't been able to find anything. Thanks a lot. This makes me sad and yes, I think they are going to try to make up for lost time.

I have found this site online about what foods inmates asked for as last meal, their last words and all. It is really kind of interesting Dead Man Eating...Last Meals on Death Row and as for lists of upcoming executions you go to Pending USA Executions (as of 05/05/08).

So this does not get to depressing many of these are not going to be executed / murdered many of them have many appeals left and their attorneys have not filed them yet .
It is not unusual for a capitol defense attorney not to file a soon as a date is given and it will take a while for a judge and their clerks to review the appeal .most of these will probably be stayed maybe a few will even get their sentences vacated .
It does seem as if the hard core death penalty states are making up for lost time . It might actually create a backlog as these cases are very time consuming and complex .
I read something rather sickening for a “victims rights” group that they were very pleased with the courts ruling and are happy to see “justice" being served and closure for the victims families .
Cheering on executions and hoping they are held faster is just sick and not any better than the alleged “Hannibal Lector” they want so badly to kill it is seeming like a revenge killing rather than justice .

LULU From what I understand by that point they are resigned to their fates and are simply waiting what ever lies ahead some of course know their date will be stayed Some fight on hoping for any reprieve.
TX has moved at least six men in Polunsky to death watch but that does not mean all of them will be executed it is one hell of roller coaster for them

I guess because when its really down to the wire, you kind of figure its the very last time you will eat so you better pick out something nice. I probably would have a hard time eating also and end up choosing soup and saltine crackers most likely to keep it down lol.

I don't agree with death penalty, because all it does is cost tax payer, and do we not have greater needs in our world such as feeding hungry, caring for ill and all the things that really matter. I think we need to help people, rather then warehouse. I think some of the crimes are isckening and they deserve to be locked up forever. I mean how do you let loose Manson's and Dahmer's. But those dudes never even faced death.
